The field visit was organized for Level II, Semester II students by the Department of Economics on 24 October 2025. The students visited the Central Bank Regional Office, the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Jaffna, and Vaanavil Garments in Kilinochchi. The field visit was initiated by Mrs. S. Piratheepan (Lecturer), and Ms. S. Mathusha (Temporary Assistant Lecturer) also joined the visit.

The field visit was organized for Level III (Hons. & Gen) Semester II Students by the Department of Economics on 12th of November 2025, The students visited District Secretariat, Batik Industry – Colombuthurai and Industrial Park Atchuvely which was initiated by the Mrs.V.Ravishankar (Senior Lecturer) & Mr.S.S.Uthayakumar (Senior Lecturer) & Mrs.S.Piratheepan (Lecturer) also joined the field visit.

The field visit was organized for Level II (General) & Level III (Hons.) Semester II Students by the Department of Economics on 14th of November 2025, The students visited Sri Lankan Contemporary Archives, Jaffna Fort & Nallur in Kilinochchi which was initiated by the Dr.(Ms).K.Karunaanithy (Head of the Department) & Mrs.S.Piratheepan (Lecturer) also joined the field visit..

Field Visit – Agric Sector Modernization Project

The field visit was organized for Leve IV Semester II Students by the Department of Economics on 20th of January 2023, Agric Sector Modernization Project, Jaffna which was initiated by the Mr.R.Nanthakumaran (Visiting Lecturer) & Dr. K.Karunanithy, the (Head of the department), Ms.S.Varnika (Temp. Assistant Lecturer) also joined the field visit.

EDUCATIONAL TOUR OF FOURTH YEAR STUDENTS TO EASTERN PROVINCE

EXPOSURE VISIT – COLOMBO STOCK EXCHANGE_ JAFFNA BRANCH, FIRST YEAR

The field visit was organized by the Department of Economics with the aim of exposing the 1st year students to experience real market practices and learning from the stock market. On 16th 2023, first-year students of the Department of Economics went on a Field Visit to the CSE, Jaffna Branch. It was the first time a field visit was organized with the motive of providing the students with an opportunity to witness and learn the theories, concepts, and practical aspects learned under the course module.

EXPOSURE VISIT – COLOMBO, SECOND AND THIRD YEAR

The field visit was organized by the Department of Economics with the aim of exposing second and third-year BA honors undergraduates specialized in Economics. The places to visit were the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the Colombo Stock Market, Department of Census of Statistics, the Department of National Planning, Katunayake Export Processing Zone and the University of Colombo. This exposure field visit was successfully completed as scheduled on the 28th and 29th of July 2023 with 55 students and four academic staff joined in the field visit.
