A two-day workshop on Qualitative Research Methods was conducted by Prof. T. Sanathanan from the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna. The sessions were held on 29th April and 6th May 2026 at 2.00 p.m. in the Smart Lecture Hall. The workshop provided valuable insights into qualitative research approaches and enhanced students’ understanding of research methodologies.

A workshop on “Hands-on Training on SmartPLS” was conducted by Prof. J. Robinson, Professor in Human Resource Management, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, on 27th February 2026 from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The session significantly enhanced students’ understanding of SmartPLS and its practical applications through clear guidance and hands-on activities. The interactive and practical approach adopted during the workshop made the session highly engaging, informative, and impactful.
Workshop on “Questionnaire Design”
A workshop on “Questionnaire Design” was conducted by Prof. P. Pratheepkanth, Professor in Accounting, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, on 27th March 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. for Level III and Level IV students of Economics. The session enhanced students’ understanding of questionnaire design, and the interactive approach made the workshop highly engaging and informative.

A workshop on “Learning Grounded Theory by Doing: A Guided Hands-On Workshop” was conducted by Prof. Shivany Shanmugathas, Professor in Marketing, Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, on 18th February 2026 and 25th February 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. The sessions greatly enriched students’ understanding of grounded theory, and the interactive approach made the workshop highly engaging and impactful.
Workshop on “Preparation of Business Plan” on 09th of April 2025
This workshop, a follow up of the workshop on 09th of April 2025 was conducted by the resource Person, Mr.T.Thanansayan, AD/SED, Ministry of Youth & Sports and his team. As an outcome of the workshop, the Level II students were able to transform their business idea into a business plan. The students are also given a chance to undergo further training once they graduated.
